What People Have to Say About Mt. Rose...

Ski magazine (or Southwest Air Magazine) said Mt. Rose is one of the top 6 small areas in the US. As Stratton Mountain Vermont employees, we had a blast today and agree with them. Trails were super snow perfect, grooming world class. The employees were the best. Thanks, we shall return and spread the word. -Comment Card March 13, 2013, visitors Alice & Lou F. from Stratton Mountain, Vermont via Cheshire CT
The 2 main lifts are fast and well run. The staff is absolutely top notch. I will be a regular at Mt. Rose for years to come!
Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe review written Jan 22 2013 by Aaron, intermediate skier
Mt. Rose is probably the closest resort to Reno and only about 20 minutes from Incline Village in Tahoe. The terrain is pretty steep and I'm not sure a beginner level person would have much fun there, but anyone intermediate and above will have lots of options. I was impressed that the runs were nearly all groomed for how steep they were, the two big 6-person lifts on each side of the mountain were fast and looked brand new. I was also impressed by the modern looking main lodge and secondary lodge. They looked like they were only a few years old if that. Super easy to access as well as the resort is right off the highway. Riding here on my way out of Tahoe will become a must do from here on out.
Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe review written Jan 16 2013 by Sundeep, advanced snowboarder
I absolutely love this place! It was my first time skiing and the staff was more then helpful and friendly. This place is very open which was perfect for me since I kept falling all over the place and didn't have to worry about taking any other skier down with me! Looking forward to coming back. yelp.com, Lan V, Novato CA, 1/24/13
I have a lot of fun as a beginner and my intermediates friends do, too. What I remember most is the instructors. They were very down-to-earth, kind and nice people. Don't be shy; do ask a lot of questions. They're passionate about teaching you and genuinely care about you.

$79 for a 2 hour snowboarding lesson and snowboard rental. Not bad at all! It was my first time snowboarding ever and I had a great time. Even though it was snowing like crazy, my lesson was great. Michael is a super patient instructor and his motto is to make sure everyone learns how to snowboard. And learn to snowboard I did! By the end of the 2 hours, I was able to carve :D yay!

Great lessons and the resort is family oriented and not too fancy like many in Tahoe. Good set or terrain for beginning skiing but advanced terrain also is enjoyable.
